FCA Hero

If you’re a die hard Jeeper you’ve probably already heard this story, but it is something we didn’t want the Jeep Talk Show listeners to miss!  The global head of design for Fiat Chrysler Automotives, FCA, is being called a hero. I’m speaking of Ralph Gilles.  No not for his design of the new Cherokee, or the new Renegade but for what he did on his own personal time. Early this past Sunday morning Gilles pulled up to an accident between two Ford vehicles.

 
 

FCA to Drop Diesel Engines

Well apparently fuel economy and power and torque aren’t important to FCA because they are dropping diesel engines!  What?  But they just announced that the new Jeep Wrangler JL would have a diesel option later this year?  Not to worry FCA is talking about their diesel cars, and since FCA doesn’t offer any cars in North America we, and the vast amount of our audience won’t be affected.

No Good Modification Goes Unpunished

You may never have heard the phrase, “No good modification goes unpunished” but if you’ve modified your Jeep you instantly knows what it means.  You gotta have that lift then you find that causes a problem that you have to resolve, or several.  For example Tammy lifted her JKU 3.5 inches and during an inspection she found her resepa was leaking due the steeper angle it was at and had to buy a replacement that was designed for the greater angle.

Andy Lilienthal is the Digital Marketing Manager at Warn Industries, and first started with the company in 2006. He’s a lifelong gearhead, and currently has a number of 4WD vehicles including his 2001 Jeep Cherokee which he’s wheeled all over the west including Moab, Ouray, CO, Tillamook State Forest, and Tahuya State Forest among other places. When not in the office, you can find Andy representing the brand a number of events including Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep Jamboree, and other Jeep and 4WD events. He also does media relations, social media, and puts on the occasional winching demonstration.

The gizmo that I used to finally figure out that my Jeep cooling system wasn’t overheating was the Engine Watchdog TM-1.  Engine Watchdog, and Australian based company which means you’ll need to specify fahrenheit or celsius on the units’ readout.  They have several models to choose from.  TM-1 to TM-4.
