This Week In Jeep:

It’s all about the 2019 JT Truck

Jeep® Crew Chief 715 Concept

We’ve been talking about it for weeks and it’s finally come and gone. The LA Auto Show where the long anticipated worldwide debut of the new Jeep pickup was going to happen. We talked about it, but unfortunately the Jeep talk show just doesn’t have the bank account to get the hosts down there for a first-hand look ourselves. However…. friends of the show Extreme Terrain went down there with Ryan Huck, who got a chance to sit down with head of the Jeep brand himself Tim Kuniskis, for a no holds barred interview and to get some inside details behind the first Jeep pickup in nearly 30 years. The Jeep’s debut and unveiling itself was nothing short of stunning. With more effects and pyrotechnics than a rock show, FCA really knocked it out of the park on this one. I don’t want to spoil it for you, so I’ll let it speak for itself. The videos of it are all over online and we’ll of course have a link to the video from Extreme Terrain in the show notes for this episode. But let’s go ahead and get into some of the nitty-gritty details behind this long-awaited new vehicle.  The official numbers are finally out it’s been confirmed this new Jeep pickup will be a true Workhorse as we’ve hoped all along. The Rubicon trim package is where it’s alllll at but more on that later. One of the big details not known till now, is that the pickup will not have a walk thru or pass thru cap to bed like many had hoped for. The rear sliding window is reminiscent of older trucks from yesteryear, with a small square foot sized sliding opening in the middle, but it does have defrost lines going all the way across. The soft top storage came into question as all of the debuted models either had no top, or it were sporting a hard top. Where the soft top will fold and store seems to be right behind the head, about halfway up the curved roll bar that is molded into the C pillars.
